Virtual Knowledge Centres

A Virtual Knowledge Centre (VKC) is a combination of an online work environment and an online library with information on a specific discipline or subject.

It is a virtual community, where researchers, lecturers and students from the same (research) group can collaborate and share the results of their research with each other and third parties.

Public or restricted access

A Virtual Knowledge Centre is partly publicly available and partly restricted access. Information about the research group for example is public, but the workspaces where the actual research takes place are only available to the core members of the group.

Active VKC's

At this moment there are VKC's active in research groups in the field of: Science, Geosciences, Humanities, Law, Economics and Governance, (Veterinary) Medicine and Social Sciences. VKC's are part of the University Library Partner-programme.
