The Legal Research Master (LRM) is one of Utrecht University's prestigious master's programmes that brings together a number of selected students with a special interest in legal research. The Master’s programme offers students an excellent introduction into the academic community and a profound preparation for securing a PhD position. For students who are contemplating a career as a practicing lawyer, or who are still weighing both options, this programme offers the possibility for in depth specialisation, making them especially attractive for large international law firms, governmental and non-governmental organisations.

The programme was rated as the best Research Master's Programme in the Netherlands in Elsevier 2009 by its students. Also the Dutch Keuzegids Masters 2010 has rated this the best programme in any Dutch Law School.

All of our students are involved in research projects conducted under the supervision of senior faculty staff. Under the heading 'Research' you may find information on publications and ongoing projects, as well as our monthly seminars.
