Welcome to the website of the 1st UU Legal Research Master International Conference! The Conference takes place on 8 December 2008 and is meant to be the first of many to follow. The International Conference Comittee LRM UU is working hard to make it a succes.

Programme
 
It is our pleasure to announce the Second International Legal Research Conference, which will be held on Monday 7 December 2009. The central theme of the conference is ‘Euroscepticism and Multiculturalism’. In three sub sessions several legal aspects with regard to Euroscepticism and multiculturalism will be dealt with. Some provisional information on sub sessions and speakers:
 
-Freedom of religion and multiculturalism
Professor V. Bader and Professor T. Loenen
 
National identity, constitutional values and Euroscepticism
Professor A. Örkény and Professor L. Besselink
 
Cultural identity and the regulation of private law in Europe
Professor J. Smits, Professor E. Örücü, and Professor R. Sefton-Green
 
Not only legal perspectives, but also political and sociological perspectives are discussed during this interdisciplinary conference. Therefore, non-lawyers are cordially invited as well. The final session will be an interdisciplinary and interactive panel discussion, in which attendants are invited to share their views on the topics discussed during the day
