The UU International Legal Conference is an annual event, organised by the students of the Legal Research Master of Utrecht University. This Legal Research Master has students from a very broad range of subjects within law, therefore we invite speakers on a wide range of subjects connected to the chosen subject of the Conference.

‘Euroscepticism and Multiculturalism’

Programme

 

It is our pleasure to announce the Second International Legal Research Conference, which will be held on Monday 7 December 2009. The central theme of the conference is ‘Euroscepticism and Multiculturalism’. In three sub sessions several legal aspects with regard to Euroscepticism and multiculturalism will be dealt with. Some provisional information on sub sessions and speakers:

 

Freedom of religion and multiculturalism

 National identity, constitutional values and Euroscepticism

Cultural identity and the regulation of private law in Europe

Not only legal perspectives, but also political and sociological perspectives are discussed during this interdisciplinary conference. Therefore, non-lawyers are cordially invited as well. The final session will be an interdisciplinary and interactive panel discussion, in which attendants are invited to share their views on the topics discussed during the day.
