 Welcome

The Montaigne Centre for Judicial Administration and Conflict Resolution brings together Utrecht University’s multi-disciplinary expertise in the field of judicial administration and conflict resolution. The centre is based in the School of Law within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance.

Research at the Montaigne Centre focuses on national, international, and transnational processes and actors in the administration of the law. Examples include: courts of appeal, judges, mediators, ombudsmen, bodies for complaints, bailiffs, and litigants. The aim of the institute is to move beyond the purely legal paradigm of inquiry to embrace a thoroughly multi-disciplinary approach.
